There are available a wide variety of books, maps, board games and jigsaw puzzles available, and for outside activities, badminton, archery, frisbies, swingball, and even kite-flying from Windmilland point, at the very highest point of our land, and the place with the very best views. Also, there's a barbeque to use on sunnier days.
At the bottom of Hole Lane leading to Hole, is a cycle/bridle/footpath recently opened called the 'Ruby Trail' (after the indigenous Devon Ruby Red cattle breed). It leads to the local village of Highampton (about 1 mile distant) and beyond, with its general village store & post office, as well as the thatched 'Golden Inn' public house, open daily for food and drink.
Bicycle hire is also available nearby at Sourton Down, Okehampton on Dartmoor's Granite Way (www.devoncyclehire.co.uk) as is Archery in Highampton both of which we can arrange for you, as well as horse riding at nearby Okehampton (www.skaighstables.co.uk).
