Your Facilities The Milking Parlour is open all year round and if you can’t make it away for a full week, we can take short breaks (minimum payable 3 nights) - perfect for unwinding and blowing the cobwebs away with fresh air in genuinely peaceful surroundings. The accommodation is easily accessible, and if you have any special requirements please just ask, and we will do our best to arrange whatever you need. Apart from us in the nearby farmhouse, the nearest neighbour is a quarter of a mile away, so The Milking Parlour at Hole truly provides peace and tranquility, being tucked away from the rest of this oh so busy world. However should want or need to keep in touch with the outside world, wireless broadband is available at no additional cost*, enabling you to connect to the internet as long as you bring your laptop with a wireless card (*please see our Internet usage policy). The Milking Parlour at Hole is centrally heated throughout by bespoke oil-fired underfloor heating, and upstairs in the sitting room this is further supplemented by a wood-burning log stove, with fully openable doors for the cosiest of evenings on the coldest of days. There is plenty of private parking space at the top of your own private drive, and you are very welcome to walk around and explore our land, but you should try and remember to bring your wellies!

There are available a wide variety of books, maps, board games and jigsaw puzzles available, and for outside activities, badminton, archery, frisbies, swingball, and even kite-flying from Windmilland point, at the very highest point of our land, and the place with the very best views. Also, there's a barbeque to use on sunnier days. At the bottom of Hole Lane leading to Hole, is a cycle/bridle/footpath recently opened called the 'Ruby Trail' (after the indigenous Devon Ruby Red cattle breed). It leads to the local village of Highampton (about 1 mile distant) and beyond, with its general village store & post office, as well as the thatched 'Golden Inn' public house, open daily for food and drink.  Bicycle hire is also available nearby at Sourton Down, Okehampton on Dartmoor's Granite Way (www.devoncyclehire.co.uk)  as is Archery in Highampton both of which we can arrange for you, as well as horse riding at nearby Okehampton (www.skaighstables.co.uk).
